Charles Bruce Malcolm, 93, formerly of Ferndale, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, in Grand Rapids. He was born July 6, 1910 in Deford to Howard Duncan and Edna (Bruce) Malcolm in Deford, MI.
Charles graduated from Cass City High School in 1930 and Saginaw Business College. On June 23, 1936 he married Edna Lois Warren June 23, 1936 in his parent’s home in Deford. In 1937 they moved to Highland Park, and then in 1949 they moved to Ferndale where they made their home for nearly 50 years before moving to Grand Rapids in 1998. Mr. Malcolm worked for ExCellO Corp. for 40 years as an inventory control supervisor. He was a member of the Ferndale United Methodist Church for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, walking, camping and most other sports.
Bruce is survived by his children: Sharon (Robert) McKillop of Central Point, Oregon, Kathy (Dennis) Daniels of Sterling Heights, Debra (Daryl) Metzner of Grand Rapids and Howard (Colleen) Malcolm of Golden, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edna on August 15, 2003; sister, Althea Kritzman of Cass City.
Funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2003 at Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City, with Rev. Terry Butters of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
