ROBERT D. MAC KAY
Robert D. MacKay, 69, of Cass City, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 in Bay Medical Center, Bay City. He was born December 12, 1935 in Cass City to Robert J. and Evelyn (Kimmel) MacKay. He married Ilene J. Dearing June 23, 1956 in Cass City.
Robert graduated from Cass City High School. He served in the US Army. He worked as a mechanic for Auten Motor Sales until the business closed. Bob owned M & M Block Company for many years. He was a Hunter Safety instructor for many years. Bob was one of the original members, helped build and is a life member of the Cass City Gun Club. He is a member of the NRA, Michigan Trap and Skeet Association, and a former member of the American Legion Drill Team of Caseville. He enjoyed deer hunting, trap shooting and taking cruises.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ilene; daughters: Terry (Richard) Ely of Brethren, Bobbi Jo (Edward) Roesner of Caro; grandchildren: Darcy, Danielle, Justin, Jordan, James, Bethany; brothers: James (Ruth) MacKay of Novi, Frederick MacKay of Columbus, GA; uncle, Byron Hewitt of Saginaw. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald MacKay; sister, Dorothy MacKay.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Caro officiating. Memorials may be made to Cass City Gun Club. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. MacKay: Justin Ely, James Roesner, Jordan Ely, Frederick MacKay, James MacKay, Edward Roesner.
