EDWARD ALTON LYONS
87, of Deford, died Sunday, April 9, 2023 in Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw. He was born September 10, 1935 in Kingston to Alton Edward and Olive Myrtle (D’Arcy) Lyons. He married Lisa Rose Rodriguez on January 25, 1969 in Kingston Wesleyan Church.
Edward graduated from Kingston High School in 1954. In his younger years, his favorite outdoor activity was snowmobiling. Edward was employed for forty-five years as a semi-truck driver, during which time he was employed by Frank Strassburg and Son for sixteen years, PTI Asphalt for seventeen years, then Albrecht Sand and Gravel for twelve years. He retired in 2009. Edward was a former member of Kingston Wesleyan Church. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting and deer hunting.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lisa of Deford; children: Larry Lyons of Sebewaing, Cheryl Lyons of Saginaw, Timothy (Lisa) Lyons of Macomb, Erica Lyons of Davison; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; niece, Pam Zyrowski; nephew, Randy Lyons. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Donald D’Arcy Lyons, Reverend Morris Lyons.
Memorial service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor David Cooper of Deford Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lisa Lyons for a memorial to be determined at a later time.
