ALTON EDWARD LYONS
Alton E. Lyons, 100, of Kingston, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. He was born November 22, 1905, in Macomb County to Harry and Mary (Schank) Lyons. He married (Olive) Myrtle D’Arcy February 5, 1927 in Romeo. She died March 29, 1993.
Alton farmed until 1943, then he moved to Kingston. He worked as a meat cutter for 15 years for Walter Legg Meat Market. He was employed by Kingston Farm Service until his retirement in 1971. Alton was a Kingston School Board member for 15 years and a charter life member of Kingston Wesleyan Church and a member of Wesleyan Men’s Club.
Alton is survived by his children: Rev. Morris (Ova) William Lyons of Bear Lake, Edward (Lisa) Alton Lyons of Kingston; daughter-in-law, Janet Lyons (John) Barden of Kingston; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald D’Arcy Lyons in 1953 and two sisters, Margaret and Ruth, and a brother, Harry.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, in Kingston Wesleyan Church, Kingston with Rev. Ken Sanderfur officiating. Memorials may be made to Kingston Wesleyan Church. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
