Verna I. Lowe, 89, of Snover, died Friday, March 26, 2004 in Mission, TX. She was born August 27, 1914 in Carsonville to Warren and Mary (Shranpell) Sweet. She married Virgil Albert Lowe September 25, 1935 in Marysville.
Verna was a member of the Argyle United Methodist Church, playing the piano for services. She was also an active lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 55 years and played the organ with them for 29 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.
Verna is survived by her husband, Virgil; daughters: Joyce (Keith) Brown of Ubly, Carolyn (Harold) Donagay of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sister Vera (Morris) Shanks of Deckerville. She is preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne (George) Sangster; granddaughter, Suzanne Brown; brother, Otis Sweet.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Fred McDowell of Argyle United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International.
Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 in funeral home with O.E.S. Service 7:30 p.m.
