ELENORA MAY LOUNSBURY
Elenora M. Lounsbury, 81, of Cass City, died Monday, June 21, 2004, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw. She was born May 31, 1923 at home in Ellington to Albert and Charlotte (Southworth) Bishop. She married Harland M. Lounsbury June 14, 1942 in her brother’s home in Caro. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Elenora graduated from Caro High School in 1942. While Harland was in the service, Elenora worked at Thumb Laundry in Caro, then in the early years of their marriage she worked as a clerk at the Federated Store and then as a bookkeeper at the Hudson Garage. Elenora helped her husband on the farm and was in charge of the calves. She was a great cook and enjoyed making clothing and doing embroidery work. She taught Sunday school at Sunshine Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. Elenora was currently a member of the Cass City United Methodist Church and remained active helping with the church prayer chain.
Elenora is survived by her husband, Harland; daughter-in-law, Janie Lounsbury of Cass City; grandchildren: Elenora Lounsbury of Cass City, Norris Lounsbury Jr. of Cass City, Brenda Lounsbury of Cass City; great grandchildren: Keith Lounsbury, Alexander Favazza Jr., Cole Chippi, Jozie Chippi; sisters �-in-law: Jessie, Vera (Loren), Carol and Margaret; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Norris December 29, 1990; brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Edith Bishop; nephew, Wilbur.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. George Ward, Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church. Pallbearers for Mrs. Lounsbury: Dean Hutchinson, Roy Wagg, James Tuckey, Mike Karr, Leo Parker and Paul Bliss.
