Marion "Minnie" Longuski, 80, of Cass City, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe. She was born August 29, 1931 in Elmwood to Merl and Lucile (Rockefeller) Winter. She married Eugene Longuski in the Sheridan Church Rectory on June 18, 1949. He died April 30, 2002.
Marion graduated from Cass City High School. She was employed at both Erla's and on the production line at Walbro in Cass City and Caro for several years. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was in her own strawberry patch. Longuski strawberry farm was Marion's passion. Playing Bingo was Marion's life and in her younger years, she enjoyed a good card game. Marion also enjoyed dancing until she could no longer do so. Other interests of Marion's included watching sports, especially baseball and basketball and playing her football spreadsheet.
Marion is survived by her sons: Dennis (Patsy) Longuski of Cass City, Daryl Longuski of Cass City; grandchildren: Robin (Brent Wallace) Longuski of Cass City, Dawn Longuski of Cass City; sisters-in-law: Janice Winter of Cass City, Gladys Pickering of Bad Axe, Eleanor (Cyril) Landra of Saginaw, Florence Vogler of Bloomfield Hills, Linda Longuski of Bad Axe; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; parents, Merl and Lucile Winter; brother, Marvin Winter; brothers-in-law: Tim Pickering, George Vogler, Jerome Longuski, Bruno Longuski, Jr.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
