Leland L. Lester, 93, of Kingston, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 in his daughter’s home following a long illness. He was born June 1, 1917 in Seneca, Michigan to Lewis and Jenetta (Cole) Lester. He married Emily Rodenbo June 26, 1943 in Kingston. She died in 1981.
Leland worked for Jubb Motor Sales in Marlette then retired from Bendix Trailer Factory in Marlette after 24 years. He loved to hunt and fish. Leland loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leland is survived by his children: Burton (Jane) Lester of Kingston, Robert (Cheryl) Lester of Cass City, Linda (Floyd) McIntosh of Cass City, Dennis Lester of Marlette; 19 grandchildren: 37 great-grandchildren; brothers: Richard (Delores) Lester of Kingston; sister, Eunice Wills of Brookville, FL; sisters-in-law: Letha Lester of Florida, Jean Rodenbo of Clifford; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Eldritz, James, Lawrence, Leslie and Lewis Lester; sister, Louise Wilkinson.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor Len Wyatt of Kingston Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Lester are his grandsons: David, Rob, Paul, Brad, Denny Lester, and Tim Stoll. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
