GREGORY JAMES LENDA,
59, of Millington, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 9, 2016 while hunting in Koylton Township. He was born April 4, 1957 in Pigeon to Harry Albert and Mabel Mary (McIlhargie) Lenda. He married Cathy Hawley July 18, 1986 in Port Sanilac.
Greg graduated from Owendale Gagetown High School in 1975. He attended Delta Community College working toward his Associate Degree. Greg worked for Cass City IGA as a Manager for over 25 years until the store was sold. He worked as a Real Estate Agent for Kelly and Company Realty and GMAC Real Estate for about 10 years. Greg was currently working in shipping and receiving for Premier Automation Contracting in Flint. Greg was very active with Boy Scouts of America serving as assistant troop leader for ten years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Detroit Lions Football and Detroit Tigers Baseball on television. Greg also enjoyed deer hunting. He was a member of Cass City Gagetown Knights of Columbus Council #8892.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Cathy; sons: Brett Lenda of Essexville, Matt Lenda of Boston, MA; Joe Lenda of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Mabel Lenda of Cass City; sister, Deborah (Kevin) Israelson of Cass City; niece, Chelsea Israelson; nephew, Cole Israelson. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Lenda.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 in Our Lady Consolata Parish St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown with Rev. Craig Carolan of Annunciation of the Lord Parish, Port Austin officiating. Pallbearers for Mr. Lenda: Brett Lenda, Matt Lenda, Joe Lenda, Kevin Israelson, Cole Israelson and Doug Baulf.
