ALICE JULIET LELITO,
86, of Deford, died following a short illness Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc. She was born September 30, 1928 in Thief River Falls, MN to Olaf Listol and Julie Elizabeth (Guttrud) Olson. She married Christian Juan Lelito July 18, 1964. He died September 4, 1994.
Alice worked in the dietary department at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital for several years. She loved many types of music including Patty Page, Johnny Cash, Casting Crowns and more. She was soothed by songs Christina played for her in the hospital. Alice loved feeding and caring for animals. She was patient in teaching Christina to ride her pony as a young girl. Alice helped raise and care for her granddaughters while their Mom was in the military and working. She loved her three granddaughters and was playful and young at heart especially when they were around. She enjoyed going out to restaurants with her granddaughter, Adrianna. Alice was spunky and loved life. She was full of ingenuity and could fix just about anything. She was a very spiritual woman.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Christina (Adrian Juan Pena') Lelito of Deford; grandchildren: Alexandra Pena', Adrianna Pena', Faith Pena'; stepsons: Juan Lelito of Dunedin, FL, Gerald Lelito of Farmington Hills; stepdaughter, Sandra Lelito of Deford; step granddaughter, Julie; sister, Violet Koenig of White Lake; brother, Helmer Olson of Clarkston; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sisters: Clara Ferris, Cora Oen, Alma Linstead and infant sister; brothers: Melvin Olson and Morris Olson.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Pastor David Cooper of Deford Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
