DONALD RALPH LANGMAID,
81, of Caro, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born June 11, 1928 in Highland Park to Fred and Lottie (Seddon) Langmaid. He married Anna M. Wixon September 11, 1950 in Indiana. She died February 20, 2000.

Donald worked for Ford Motor Company before he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the service Don worked for a bus company in Dearborn. He later worked for Saginaw Steering Gear for ten years. Don worked for Caro Farmers Co-op Elevator for over ten years until his retirement. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Caro. He and his wife, Anna, wintered for ten years in Lakeland, Florida. Donald enjoyed playing the guitar and he played steel guitar regularly in church until his illness in December 2009. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening and woodworking, making many beautiful gifts for his children.

Donald is survived by his children: James (Caryl) Langmaid of Caro, Donna Schmitzer of Caro, Loann (Michael) Rowe of Mayville, Debra Gutierrez of Caro and Larry Langmaid of Bad Axe; grandchildren: Jamie Langmaid, Krystine Langmaid, Sammy Gutierrez, Tammy (Roy) Sanchez, Steve (Misty)Gutierrez, Donald Gutierrez, Dolly Craig, Rickie (Shannon) Snyder, Jessica Roberts, Ashley Langmaid; 17 great grandchildren and the 18th due in December; brothers: Loyd (Vonnie) Langmaid of Lincoln; sisters: Margie Johnson of Cass City, Freida Hamilton of Birch Run; sister-in-law, JoAnn Langmaid of Birch Run; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Arnold Langmaid, Jerry Langmaid and Bob Langmaid.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Pastor David Dietzel of Caro Assembly of God officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers for Mr. Langmaid: Jamie Langmaid, Roy Sanchez, Donald Gutierrez, Sammy Gutierrez, John Pugh, and Marc Langmaid.
