JOSEPH FERDINAND KUTEY
Joseph F. Kutey, 92, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 10, 2008 at home. He was born July 30, 1915 in Anaconda, MT to Ferdinand and Anna (Blazicevich) Kutey. He married Viola Yondrich March 19, 1938 in Detroit. She died May 27, 1995.
Joseph attended Cass Tech High School in Detroit. He worked for Ryerson Steel beginning in 1934 until his retirement after over 40 years. Joseph loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens. He enjoyed bowling, small game hunting including pheasant, rabbit and partridge. He loved to read, work crossword puzzles and listen to opera. From the time Madellyn was a child Joseph enjoyed winemaking, encouraging the children to help crush the grapes. He loved to watch sports on television.
Joseph is survived by his children: Joseph Kutey Jr. of S. Milwaukee, WI, Madellyn Kutey of Macomb; granddaughter, Cathleen (Bill) Levsen of Plymouth, WI; daughter-in-law, Carol Kutey of Cudahy, WI; great grandsons: Erik, Ben and Timmy. He is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Kutey.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Lee Wenskay of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linkville, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery.
