TRISTAN JAY KUNTZ
Tristan J. Kuntz, 22, of Cass City, died due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, August 1, 2018 in Sanilac County. He was born May 7, 1996 in Red Bank, New Jersey to James and Nadine (Hoppe) Kuntz.
Tristan attended Cass City High School where he played on the tennis and basketball teams. He graduated in 2014. Tristan was employed by Millennium in Cass City and later by Gemini in Ubly. He enjoyed golfing and snow-skiing, but his main passion was basketball. Tristan played on many traveling basketball teams , one of which was awarded the 2017 Gus Macker Tournament Champions. Tristan loved the time spent in Caseville playing beach volleyball with his friends. Always active and self-less, he gave all to his friends and family. He was looking forward to enlisting in the Navy to follow in his parents’ footsteps in service and duty to his country.
Tristan is survived by his parents, James and Nadine Kuntz; grandparents: Rosario Jacobson of Dickinson, ND; Melvin and Alicia Hoppe of Cass City; aunts and uncles: Emily (Greg) Darr of Cass City; Michael Hoppe of Cass City; Kevin (Christine) Hoppe of Cass City; Brian Hoppe of Ubly; Hazel (Todd) Filion of Port Austin; Matthew (Danielle) Hoppe of Shephard; Mary (Larry) Randall of Cass City; Janice (Brian) Williams of Cass City; Timothy (Beth) Hoppe of Caro; Arlene (Dan) Bolzeman of Hopewell, VA; John (Miranda) Hoppe of Kingston; Sarah (Francisco) Madellin of Autryville, NC; Isabel (Keith) Fritz of Mayville; Garaleah Kuntz of Merrillville, IN; Belinda (David) Dix of Dickinson, ND; numerous cousins, relatives and friends. Tristan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Kuntz.
