ALICE EDITH KULINSKI,
89, of Cass City, died following a long illness Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born July 13, 1925 in Detroit the oldest of three children born to Alexander William and Edith O. (Lynn) Torrens. She married Chester Kulinski July 17, 1948 in Detroit. He died April 23, 1997.
Before her marriage Alice worked for several years as an office clerk. After marrying Alice and Chester began their family. Alice worked very hard raising her ten children. She cared for a large vegetable garden and canned much of what she grew. She raised pickles to help with household expenses. Alice had a green thumb which showed in her beautiful flower gardens. She grew plants and kids and was good at both. Years ago she enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and The Price is Right. In later years she enjoyed watching Law and Order and reading Romance or Mystery books. She raised parakeets and taught them to talk. Alice also took good care of her Dachshund.
Alice is survived by her children: Roberta Filanda of Port Huron, Patricia Reynolds of Romulus, Richard (Lora) Kulinski of Deford, Sue (Fred) Tobin of Dewitt, Judy (Robert) Bailey of Kingston, David Kulinski of Marietta, MS, Ruth (Keith) Watson of San Antonio, TX, Alice (Kalvin) Pate of Orlando, FL, John Kulinski of Kalamazoo, Mary Solorzano of Greeley, CO; 22 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Emma Torrens; nieces: Patricia Bartlett, Nancy Torrens, Sandy Tenney, Sonja McGiboney. She is preceded in death by her sister, Corrine Weaver; brother, William Torrens; and niece, Nancy Weaver.
Funeral service will be held in the spring. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
