Shirley Ann Kruse (Strauch)

SHIRLEY ANN KRUSE
87, of Cass City, died peacefully Sunday, January 30, 2022 in her home. She was born July 30, 1934 in Pigeon to Paul and Alpha (Dubs) Strauch. She married Donald Henry Kruse on May 2, 1953 in Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Linkville. He died August 29, 2017.

Shirley graduated from Pigeon High School with the Class of 1952. She worked at the Ben Franklin Store in Pigeon and was later employed by Walbro, working in their production department for thirty-three years. Shirley also kept busy helping Don on the dairy farm. She always had time for everyone, but family was the most important to her. Shirley was an excellent cook. Her hobbies included collecting nick knacks, and watching television, especially episodes of the Lawrence Welk Show, Molly B’s Polka Party, and Columbo. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Cass City.

Shirley is survived her sons: Dean (Cindy) Kruse of Cass City, Duane (Connie) Kruse of Caro, Doug (Kathy) Kruse of Cass City; grandchildren: Paul (Brandi) Kruse, Rebecca (Brandon) Sulicki, Kristopher Kruse, Amanda Hamilton, Michelle (Brandon) Speirs; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; siblings: Dorothy (Arthur) Gettel, Frank (Doris) Strauch.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City, with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Interment in Grant Township Cemetery in the spring.
