RICHARD "RICK" JOSEPH KRUEGER,
42, of Mt. Pleasant died unexpectedly Monday, September 5, 2016 in his home. He was born November 13, 1973 in Marlette to Delbert Leo and Charlene Ann (Derengowski) Krueger.
Rick graduated from Central Michigan University completing his MBA in Education. He was a Math teacher at West Intermediate School in Mt. Pleasant. Rick coached the Varsity Boys Cross Country Team, and track and boys basketball at the intermediate level. One of Rick's passions was running. He ran marathons in various cities throughout the United States often running to raise funds for a cause. He loved working in his garden and was recently learning to play the guitar. Rick loved to learn new things and would teach himself how to do many projects around his home including replacing a wood floor, replacing tile, remodeling his kitchen and putting in an irrigation system. Along with running and coaching, Rick had a passion for cooking. He made an amazing grilled chicken recipe and loved to cook for students, friends and family. Rick volunteered at the church on many projects, including packing food for the needy. He was a good Christian man with a deep belief and faith in God.
Rick is survived by his mother, Charlene Krueger of Decker; brothers: Robert "Rob" (Michelle) Krueger of Deford, Jeremy (Jodi) Krueger of Decker; sister, Jenna (Michael) Yax of Cass City; nieces and nephews: Samantha Krueger, Tabatha Krueger, Savanna Krueger, Katelyn Krueger, Robert Krueger, Brady Krueger, Madison Krueger, Daniel Krueger, Jozelyn Yax, Jillian Yax; special friends: Ron and Sherry Meier of Mt. Pleasant; grandmother, Evelyn Krueger of Sebewaing; aunts and uncles: Gloria (Bill) Sattelberg of Midland, Jo Ann VanStone of Lapeer, Thelma (Fred) Terbusch of Clio, Linda (Floyd Cargill) Haebler of Decker; Kenneth Krueger of Sebewaing; many cousins and wonderful friends. Rick is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Krueger.
Memorial service held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 in Novesta Church of Christ - Cass City with Brad Speirs officiating. A luncheon will follow this service. A second memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 following visitation from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Community Church with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City, officiating. Light refreshments will be offered following the service in Mt. Pleasant.
