WILLIAM ANDREW KOLAKOWSKI
72, of Deford, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw following a brief illness. He was born July 30, 1948 in Hamtramck to William Michael and Helen (Skowron) Kolakowski. He married Rhonda Renae Smith on August 23, 1985.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a truck driver. After his time in the Army, he held various jobs. His passion was driving. Bill enjoyed watching rodeo’s and NASCAR on television. He was a talented excellent woodworker, especially skilled at making log furniture. Bill also fixed up and repaired old bicycles. He loved dining out and spending time with family. The West Virginia Mountains was his favorite vacation destination.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children: Lori Carver of Shelby Township; William Kolakowski Jr. of Richmond; Michael (Tina) Kolakowski of Carsonville; William L. (Heather) Kolakowski of Deford; Kyle (Kristin) Kolakowski of Cass City; Dale Kolakowski of Deford; Sheila (Patrick) Zaren of Deford; Lukas Kolakowski of Deford; siblings: Patricia (John) Roop of Utica; Arlene Randall of Bridgeport; Lawrence (Patricia) Kolakowski of Sandusky; Debbie (Jim) Compton of Utica; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Lorraine Pena, Elizabeth “Betty” Lee; niece, Laverne; nephew, Mitch.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Shabbona Riverside Church, Decker with Pastor Dale Bullock officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery.
