Walter John Kloc, 77, of Deford, died Monday, August 15, 2016 in Covenant Healthcare System, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born April 13, 1939 on the family farm in Novesta Township, the sixth of eight children born to Peter and Mary (Mroz) Kloc.
Walter graduated from Cass City High School. He attended the University of Detroit and received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management and a minor in Statistical Quality Control. Walter began his career July 3, 1961 at the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command (USATAC) in Warren. His career allowed him to travel throughout the United States and deliver combat vehicles to Allies in Europe, the Middle East and other far Eastern countries until retiring March 31, 1995. Walter loved working with wood. He enjoyed golfing, boating, jogging and swimming.
Walter is survived by his sister, Chesterine (Jerry) Blahut of Grosse Ile; brother, Richard Kloc of Auburn Hills; nieces and nephews: Karen (Larry) Lesowyk of Kingston, Barbara (Bill) Clarke of Sandusky, Marvin (Denise) Wolak of Canton; several great nieces and nephews; a special friend, Betty Sabatini; many close friends. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Eleonora Kloc, Josephine Wolak, Frances Kloc; brothers: Joseph Kloc, Eugene Kloc; aunt, Kay Scordo; nephew, Mark Wolak.
Funeral Mass held 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Kloc: Patrick Lintner, Ed Freeman, Bill Freeman, Marvin Wolak, Larry Lesowyk, Mike Broda, Aaron Wolak, Colton Stadler. Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund or St. Pancratius Church Roofing Fund.
