Stanley J. Kloc, 86, of Cass City, died after a long illness Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in his home with his family at his side. He was born September 25, 1919 at home in a log cabin in Deford to George and Tillie (Chlopecka) Kloc. He married Nursie Louise Bourke October 2, 1943 in St. Marys Cathedral, Natchez, MS. She died November 5, 1995.
Stanley served in the US Army during World War II. His life work was farming. He also worked for Marlette Motor Coach for about 15 years. Stanley was an electronic technician and carpenter by avocation. He enjoyed photography, golf, traveling and was a gifted welder. He made many beautiful pieces of furniture for his children and grandchildren. Stanley was a devout Catholic. His parents family was one of the five founding families of St. Michael Catholic Church. Stanley helped to physically build the current church building, picking up and delivering every building block for the church. He was a former member of the church council, Deford School Board, American Legion and Dom Polski (the former Polish American Legion).
Stanley is survived by his children: George (Rose) Kloc of Chesapeake, VA, Mary Corrigan of Vassar, Joseph (Louann) Kloc of Leander, TX, Floyd (Diane) Kloc of Saginaw, Robert (Lori) Kloc of Freeland, Margaret (Clair) Lapham of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Kloc of Cass City, Stanley Kloc of Oxford, Raymond (Bobbie) Kloc of Portland, TX, Madeleine (Raymond) Dearing of Howell; 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two new great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: Walter (Virginia) Kloc of Buffalo, NY, Frank Kloc of Deford; sister, Victoria (John) Wolak of Kingston; many nieces and nephews. Stanley is preceded in death by daughter, Kathrine J. Kloc; brothers: Eugene Kloc and John Kloc; son-in-law, Don Corrigan and his parents.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Wilmot with Rev. Joseph Schabel and Sr. Riccardina Silvestri officiating. Memorials may be made to Fr. P. Ben VanDerSchueren, Collegelaan 36, B2140 Borgerhoutt, Antwerp, Belgium. Interment will take place in St. Michael Cemetery. Stanleys seven sons, George, Joseph, Floyd, Robert, Richard, Stanley and Raymond, will serve as his pallbearers. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644.
