Frances Kloc

Frances M. Kloc, 91, of Deford, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Covenant HealthCare System, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. She was born September 15, 1921 in Pigeon to Peter and Mary (Mroz) Kloc.

Frances and her sister Eleonora moved to Detroit in 1939 where they completed their education and began their careers. Frances completed High School of Commerce Business Administration in Detroit. She worked as an elevator operator. Frances was a supervisor for Michigan Bell retiring in 1976. She was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America. While in Detroit she attended St. Dominic Catholic Church and St. Christopher Catholic Church. During World War II she was a volunteer at Casa Maria Home for wayward girls. She was a member of the Junior League of Catholic Women for many years. Frances returned to her parent's farm to help care for her mother. She was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church since birth and the Knights of Columbus #8892 Auxiliary. Frances was a deputy township clerk for Novesta Township for several years. While taking care of her mother Frances was a member of Cass City Business and Professional Women. She was also a member of the Deford Garden Club and St. Pancratius Woman's Council. She and Eleonora were very active in planting and tending the flowers and landscaping around the church. Frances gave many hours knitting scarves for the Red Cross. She enjoyed playing golf and played on two different leagues.

Frances is survived by her sister, Chesterine (Jerry) Blahut of Grosse Ile; brothers: Walter Kloc of Caseville, Richard Kloc of Auburn Hills; nieces and nephews: Karen (Larry) Lesowyk of Kingston, Mark Wolak of Harper Woods, Barbara (Bill) Clarke of Sandusky, Marvin (Denise) Wolak of Canton; several great nieces and nephews; aunt, Antoinette (Jack) Martin of Arkansas. She is preceded in death by sisters: Eleonora Kloc, Josephine Wolak; brothers: Joseph Kloc, Eugene Kloc; aunt, Kay Scordo.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Eppenbrock and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus Council #8892 Scholarship Fund. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Deford. Active pallbearers for Ms. Kloc: Richard Kloc, Jerry Blahut, Marvin Wolak, Edward Freeman, William Freeman and Patrick Lintner. Honorary pallbearers are: Mark Wolak and Walter Kloc.
