Eugene W. Kloc, 72, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Monday, September 19, 2005 in his home. He was born September 22, 1932 at home in Novesta Township to Peter and Mary (Mroz) Kloc. Mr. Kloc never married.
Eugene graduated from Cass City High School in 1951. During High School he participated in various sports including basketball, baseball and track and was a member of the FFA. He was awarded the Paul Smark award from Cass City High School in 1951 for his athletic participation. After graduation Eugene served in the US Army. Eugene worked for General Cable as supervisor until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed softball, golf, and playing cards. He also enjoyed feeding animals including birds, cats and deer. Eugene was a University of Michigan sports fan. He was a member of the Cass City/Gagetown Knights of Columbus Council #8892.
Eugene is survived by his sisters: Eleonora Kloc of Deford, Frances Kloc of Deford, Chesterine (Jerry) Blahut of Grosse Ile; brothers: Walter Kloc of Ray, Richard Kloc of Auburn Hills; two nieces and two nephews; three great nieces and two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Wolak and brother, Joseph Kloc.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Fillion officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Catholic Church Woman’s Council or Cass City Athletic Boosters. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Deford. Pallbearers for Mr. Kloc are Walter Kloc, Richard Kloc, Jerry Blahut, Mark Wolak, Marvin Wolak, and Bill Clarke. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644 and US Army.
