ELEONORA VICTORIA KLOC,
90, of Cass City, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born November 3, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Peter and Mary (Mroz) Kloc.
Eleonora and her sister Frances moved to Detroit in 1939 where they completed their education and began their careers. Eleonora worked for a theatre booking agency that booked films for the Fox Theatre and other theatres in Detroit for over 35 years. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary taking shorthand and typing among other responsibilities. While in Detroit she attended St. Dominic Catholic Church and St. Christopher Catholic Church and bowled on the church bowling leagues for many years. In 1984 she retired and returned to her parent’s farm to help care for her mother. She was a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #8892 Auxiliary. Eleonora was very active in planting and tending the flowers and landscaping around the church. She enjoyed sewing, playing card and dice games and planting flowers. Eleonora was a woman of strong faith. Each morning she would read her prayer books and spend reflective time before beginning the day. She had a generous heart and was very faithful to many missionaries. For over ten years Eleonora visited Tendercare Nursing Facility every Monday.
Eleonora is survived by her sisters: Frances Kloc of Deford, Chesterine (Jerry) Blahut of Grosse Ile; brothers: Walter Kloc of Caseville, Richard Kloc of Auburn Hills; nieces and nephews: Karen (Larry) Lesowyk of Kingston, Mark Wolak of Harper Woods, Barbara (Bill) Clarke of Sandusky, Marvin (Denise) Wolak of Canton; several great nieces and nephews; aunts: Kay Scordo of Chicago, IL, Antoinette (Jack) Martin of Arkansas. She is preceded in death by sister, Josephine Wolak and brothers: Joseph Kloc and Eugene Kloc.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Eppenbrock and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Deford. Pallbearers for Ms. Kloc: Walter Kloc, Richard Kloc, Jerry Blahut, Mark Wolak, Edward Freeman and Bill Clarke.
