Roger J. Kling of Saginaw, Formerly of Owendale
Age 68 years, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw following a 6-month illness.
He was born February 28, 1939 in Detroit, son of the late Matthew C. and Vaneta M. (McCullough) Kling.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Kay Howard on March 5, 1979 in Lucas Co., Ohio.
Roger was the superintendent of the D.P.W. in the village of Owendale for 25 years before retiring in 2002. They had lived in Owendale until moving to Saginaw 5 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963.
He was a member of the Masonic Order Tyler Lodge, Cass City Council #317.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn of Saginaw; one son, two daughters and spouses; Ricky & Rehana Brown, Bay City; Cynthia & Tony Valdez, San Diego, CA; Beckie & Dave Peruski, Cass City; 8 grandchildren, Crystal, Whitney, Kaegan, Madeline Brown, Esteban, Caleb Valdez, Dillon, Colby Peruski; also one sister, Nancy J. Whaley, AZ.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City. Rev. John Heim will officiate with burial in Grant Twp. Cemetery near Gagetown.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Cass City from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 11 a.m..
The Masonic Order Tyler Lodge, Cass City Council #317 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Family Discretionary Fund.
