RICHARD BURKLEY KINGERY, JR.,
57, of Cass City, formerly of Roanoke, VA, died after a short illness Monday, January 17, 2011 in his home with his loving family at his side. He was born June 26, 1953 in Roanoke, VA to Richard Burkley and Juanita (Long) Kingery. He married Rebecca A. Massingale June 25, 2000 in Front Royal, VA.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He owned and operated Richard Kingery Electric for many years. Richard had a great sense of humor. He was a gentleman and a wonderful friend. He and Rebecca recently moved to Michigan. Richard loved and appreciated Michigan’s beautiful landscapes especially our shorelines and windmill farms.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Caroline Kingery and her husband, Steve of Salem, VA; mother-in-law, Perry L. Miracle; step-children: Ashley Thomas Moore of Milan, Suzanne M. (Christopher) Nealis of Columbia, SC; step-grandchildren: Joey, Myterra, Dontonio, Demetrius, Deshawn, Christina, Caleb, Devin and Lydia; brothers: Curtis (Fran) Kingery, Timothy (Phyllis) Kingery, Rocky Kingery; sisters: Sharon (Robert) Lampy, Susan Moore, Debbie (Mike) Whittaker, Sandra Moore; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Linda (John) Dillon, Nora (Gordon) Frederick; very special aunt, Marian Kingery of Salem, VA; several nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Long Moore and Richard B. Kingery.
A private family memorial service has taken place in his home, Friday, January 21, 2011. Richard’s cremated remains will be taken home to rest on his wife’s mantle.
