Lewis D. King, 85, of Kingston, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007, in St. Marys Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born July 19, 1922 in Cass City to Bert C. and Augusta (Fadie) King. He married Beatrice Hiser October 18, 1944 in her home in Caro. She died June 29, 2003. He later married Rosalie Payne Clubb February 25, 2006 in Cass City.
Lewis worked for Caro Regional Center retiring after 26 years. He also was an organic farmer for 22 years. Lewis taught Sunday school for over 25 years. He was a member of Cass City Missionary Church. Lewis enjoyed playing chess and sharing coffee each morning with his friends.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Rosalie; children: Dara (Chuck) Clark of Merrill, Evelyn (Jerry) Brooks of Grandview, MO, Mary Lou (Roger) Cooper of Cass City, Delbert (Patty) King of Muskegon, Barbara (Bruce) Dalmen of Gladstone, MO, Lehn (Marlene) King of Marlette; 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; Rosalies family: Brian (Danielle) Lavery of Deford, Tami Aten of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters: Neva Henden of Caro, Loretta (Walt) Turner of Caro; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Floyd King and Edwin King; sisters: Fern King and two infant sisters.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 in Cass City Missionary Church with Pastor Robert Sweeney officiating. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
