ELLIS CARL KARR
Ellis C. Karr, 82, of Caro, died Thursday, April 26, 2007 in Caro Community Hospital. He was born April 23, 1925 in Cass City to Floyd H. and Helen (Reed) Karr. He married Joyce E. Asher August 1, 1947 in Cass City. She died September 10, 1996.
Ellis joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17, stationed in Pearl Harbor during World War II. He then worked in communication for the Secret Service at the Pentagon. After returning home Ellis worked at Eaton (Grede) Foundry until he retired. He was a member of Cass City United Methodist Church, helping to build the new church. Ellis enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, and working on his cars.
Ellis is survived by his children: Joyce Ann (John) Schwartz of Deford, Patti (Duane) Dietz of Hiram, GA, Scott (Stacey) Karr of Deford; grandchildren: Jeff and Jeremy Schwartz, Eric and Kevin Dietz; Liz Karr; great grandchildren: Madison, Natalie; special friend, Ruth Freeman of Caro; sister, Aletha Misch; sister-in-law, Doris Karr; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers: Dean Karr, Robert Reed Karr, infant brother; and brother-in-law, John Misch.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2007 in Cass City United Methodist Church with Rev Paul Donelson officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund or Cass City United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
