JANET ELIZABETH FORTINA

Janet E. Fortina, 82, formerly of Cass City died Friday, August 16, 2024 in Heritage Hill Assisted Living, Caro. She was born September 14, 1941 to Harold and Ione (Holmberg) Perry. She married John Fortina. He preceded her in death. 

Janet graduated from Cass City High School in 1959. She received a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and later Janet earned a Master’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Illinois. She was employed as a hospital dietitian for many years. Without a doubt, Janet’s favorite pastime was dancing. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church during her time in Western Springs, IL.

Janet is survived by her siblings: Jerrold (Annette) Perry of Lakewood, CO; Jane (Wayne) Barth of East Lyme, CT; nieces and nephews: Lisa Stamford, David Barth, Suzanne Perry, Jerrod Perry II, Randy Perry, Brad Holt, Troy Perry, Matthew Perry; sister-in-law, Beverly Perry of Cass City. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy (Neil) Holt; brother, John Perry; nephews: Brian Holt, Allen Holt. 

Graveside service will be held at a later date in Ellington Cemetery with Rev. Kim Strunz officiating.
