IRMA RUTH KENNEDY JACOBS
Irma R. Jacobs, 85, of Decker, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. She was born July 4, 1922 in Petoskey to Ernest and Mary (Flannigan) Gibson. She married Floyd Kennedy November 1, 1941. He died November 14, 1972. She later married Kendall Jacobs April 9, 1977.
Irma was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She taught Sunday School for over 20 years. Irma managed Evert’s Hallmark Store in Caro for many years. She enjoyed reading, playing piano, watching the birds by her pond and she liked to sew. She loved people. The greatest joy for Irma on this earth was her family.
Irma is survived by her husband, Kendall; daughters: Carol (Robert) Parrott of Decker, Betty (Roy) Powell of Cass City; granddaughters: Debbie (Alan) Reames, Robyn (Mark) Murdoch, Cindy (Anthony) Moran, Beth (Scott) Marshall; great grandchildren: Melissa Reames, Daniel Reames, Braden Murdoch, Jesse Moran, Derek Moran, Tayler Marshall, Amanda Marshall and the eighth great grandchild is due anytime; step-children: Hayden (Debbie) Jacobs, Carolyn Caverson, Grant (Linda) Jacobs; step-granddaughter, Michelle Jacobs; several special nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her sisters: Naomi Lindsay and Emma Nichols; and great granddaughter, Holly Marshall.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Kranz Funeral Home �- Cass City with Rev. Wendy Orzel, Home and Hospice Advantage Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Jacobs: Dallas Nichols, Doug Nichols, Phil Nichols, Alan Reames, Daniel Reames, Mark Murdoch, Scott Marshall, John Agar.
