THELMA CATHERINE JACKSON,
95, of Ubly, died peacefully Monday, August 2, 2010 in Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. She was born November 14, 1914 in Greenleaf Township to Stephen and Lillian (Vogel) Decker. She married Clifford H. Jackson October 27, 1934 in her parent’s home in Greenleaf Township. He died January 31, 1998.

Thelma was a fabulous cook. She enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, playing cards and bingo. Thelma lived and worked on a farm with her husband in Greenleaf Township. She was a homemaker and a correspondent reporter for the Cass City Chronicle writing the Holbrook News column for over 55 years. Thelma was an avid reader.

Thelma is survived by her son and his wife, Robert (Joan) Jackson of Ubly; grandchildren: Cindi Lou Jackson of Orem, Ut, Stephen (Cheryl) Jackson of Sheridan, WY, John (Donna) Jackson of Apple Valley, CA; one great granddaughter; 5 step-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Decker of Cass City; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sister, Clara Bond; half-brother, Clarence ‘Jerry’ Decker; step-brothers: Walter Nadiger, Harold Nadiger; infant sister and infant brother, Thomas Decker.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Pamela Barnett of Shabbona United Methodist Church officiating. Thelma will be interred next to her husband in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
