NAOMI ROSE JACKSON
Naomi Rose Jackson, 88, of Deford passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Satchell's Christian Retirement Home, Caro. She was born September 15, 1927 in Flint to George and Ada Violet (Garrett) Peasley. Naomi married Allen Ray Jackson December 15, 1945 in his parent's home in Lapeer. He died September 5, 1987.
Naomi worked as an attendant nurse in Oakdale Regional Center and in the accounting office for the State of Michigan. She enjoyed playing BINGO, euchre, nature and being outdoors on the farm. Naomi canned tomatoes, made apple sauce and many flavors of pies including: cherry, apple, chocolate, coconut cream and lemon meringue. Her children remember her as the matriarch of the family.
Naomi is survived by her sons: Robert Allen (Kathryn) Jackson of Chatham, James Arthur (Linda) Jackson, Sr. of Hersey, Jeffery Andrew (Angelita) Jackson of Southgate; daughters: Janet Alane (Theodore) Furness of Cass City, Nanette Arleen (Clair) Hosner of Deford; Grandchildren: Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jackson, James (Tracy) Jackson, Jr., Amy (Greg) Gagnon, Jonathan Sherman, Joshua (Elaine) Sherman, Niah (Steve) Kolacz; Eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Leslie Peasley of Atica; many nieces and nephews. Naomi is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; daughter, Faith Marie Jackson; granddaughter, Trina Marie Jackson; sisters: Eleanor (Clayton) Davenport, Sandra (Frank) McComb; sister-in-law, Betty Peasley.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbiaville.
