Paul V. Izydorek, 66, of Decker died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born May 2, 1945 in Detroit to Valerian and Louise (Pankowski) Izydorek. He married Karen Powell October 17, 1964. He later married MariAnn Saenen August 14, 1990.
Paul worked as a Journeyman Machine Repair for General Motors in the Pontiac plant for 14 years. He then came home to farm full time until his retirement in 2010. Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle and Cass City Knights of Columbus Council #8892. He served on the Evergreen Board of Review for many years. Paul enjoyed farming, barbequing over his fire pit, watching NFL football, playing pool, reading and nature. He was very generous with Catholic Relief Services. Family was the most important thing in his life, and he treated his friends like family.
Paul is survived by his children: Shannon Izydorek of London, UK, Randy Izydorek of Berkley, Paula Izydorek of Los Angeles, CA; grandson, Reed Temai Bracero, age 7 of Los Angeles; brothers: Charles (Jo) Izydorek of Decker, George (Barb) Izydorek of Metamora, Eugene (Patt) Izydorek of Marlette, Bill (Edie) Izydorek of Decker, Steve (Paula) Izydorek of Springport; sisters: Ann Johnson of Riverside, CA, Sally (Larry) Wood of Deford; many nieces, nephews, close friends and neighbors. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Scott Michael and his nephew, Todd Eugene Izydorek.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Argyle with Rev. Joseph Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mr. Izydorek will be Damian Izydorek, Nicholas Izydorek, Andrew Izydorek, Ryan Izydorek, Brent Wood, John Gillig. Memorials may be made to Catholic Relief Services.
