ILENE LOUISE SOLDAN

            Ilene L. Soldan, 78, of Decker, died Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in her daughter’s home.  She was born November 11, 1945 in Yale to George Stephen and June Irene (Smith) Hosner.  She married William Loy Soldan on April 18, 1963.  He died January 5, 1993.  She later married Mac Luther Clark on June 23, 2006.  He died on December 17, 2012.

Ilene attended Caro High School and received her G.E.D.  She was a homemaker and took great care of her children.  Ilene was a 4H Leader and volunteered her time with the Foster Grandparents Program.  She enjoyed many hobbies including cake decorating, sewing, crocheting, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.  Her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren.   Ilene canned many of the vegetables that she grew in her garden.  She was a member of Colling Church of the Nazarene, Unionville.    

            Ilene is survived by her children:  Vicki Soldan of Caro, Ann (Darrell) Meyers of Unionville, Patty Soldan of Cass City, Kathy (Michael) Russell of Decker; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one on the way; brothers:  Clare “Butch” (Nanette) Hosner of Cass City, Steve Hosner of Manhattan, KS; sister-in-law, Merry Hosner of Fostoria, many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jim Hosner, Larry Hosner; sister-in-law, Judy Hosner. 

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Karen Wolfe of Colling Church of the Nazarene, Unionville officiating.  Interment in Columbia Township Cemetery, Unionville.  Memorials may be made to Colling Church of the Nazarene, 5063 Colling Road, Unionville, Michigan 48767.
