ORVAL CELAND HUTCHINSON
Orval C. Hutchinson, 91, of Cass City, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Tendercare Nursing Facility. He was born April 12, 1917 in Gagetown to Ezra and Etta (Poole) Hutchinson. He married Gladys Marie Willard February 8, 1938. She died February 27, 1965. He later married Ada A. Deering April 30, 1966 in Cass City. She died January 5, 2009.
Orval drove a fuel oil truck for Mac and Leo for several years before a long career as mechanic and then salesman for Auten Motor Sales. He later worked for Walbro retiring after ten years. Orval was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In his younger years Orval was an avid bowler. He raised, pulled and showed pulling horses. At one time he was an avid pheasant hunter and enjoyed deer hunting especially with his friend Richard.
Orval is survived by his children: Ann Marie Erlenbeck of Burney, CA, Gary (Jeanine) Hutchinson of Saginaw, Robert Hutchinson of Cass City; grandchildren: Kelly (Wally) Estes, Leigh Ann (Craig) Huang, M.D., Shawn Marie (Doug) Scott, Melissa (Brant) Arendts, Dave (Allison) Hutchinson; Rick (Kathy) Soubliere of Howell; 15 great grandchildren; brother: Alvin (Barb) Hutchinson of Cass City; special friends, Richard and Pat Easton of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by four infant sisters and his grandson, Michael Hutchinson.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Meyer officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.
