Orville F. Hubbard, 79, of Clarkston, died Friday, July 24, 2009 in Clarkston. He was born March 11, 1930 at home in Novesta Township to Newell William “Jack” and Lela Marian (Slack) Hubbard. He married Sharon Jelinek September 29, 1991 in Shabbona United Methodist Church, Shabbonna.
Orville graduated from Cass City High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Gold Stamp Company in Canada for many years. Orville owned Loyal Transmission in Pontiac for 20 years. He was a lifelong member of the Elf Khurafeh Shriners and Caro Masonic Lodge #226. Orville enjoyed music and history.
Orville is survived by his wife, Sharon; sisters-in-law, Helen Hubbard of Kingston, Deborah (Robert) Vargo; brothers-in-law: Raymond (Rita) Kreul of Florids, Wallace (Cheryl) Raleigh of Minnesota, Peter (Donna) Raleigh of Wisconsin; nephews: Bradley Hubbard of North Branch, Christopher Vargo of Ortonville and Adam Vargo fo Conyers, GA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his honorary daughter, Alexandra Riley. Orville’s family wishes to express a special thank you to his caregivers: Scott Graham, Bev Weiler and Brenda Villaleal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Newell and Lela Hubbard; brother, Newell Hubbard; daughter, Marcia Turner.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Rev. Ellen Burns of Shabbona United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wilmot. Military services under the direction of Kingston VFW Post#5317 and the U.S. Navy.
