Frances M. Hrabec, 90, of Cass City, died following a long illness, Friday, June 15, 2012 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit, Cass City. She was born January 29, 1922 in Hamtramck to Joseph and Mary (Philapovichy) Zawilinski. She married John "Jack" Hrabec September 13, 1941 in Cass City. He died November 11, 2003.
Frances worked for Walbro for a few years before beginning work at General Cable retiring as an Electrical Inspector after 27 years. She loved her work. Frances was an active member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church, a member of their Altar Society and assisted with the organizing of church member participation in funerals, baptisms, weddings and other important events. She loved to cook and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, Euchre and Uno.
Frances is survived by her children: Robert (Kathryn) Hrabec of Crystal River, FL, Beverly (Eftihios) Siradakis of Bay City, James (Diane) Hrabec of Davison; grandchildren: Gregory (Jayne) Hrabec, Brian Hrabec, Andy Siradakis, Anthony Siradakis, Daniel Hrabec, Allison Hrabec; great grandchildren: Courtney and Caitlin; brother, Wally (Agnes) Zawilinski of Cass City; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers: John Zawilinski, Bruno Zawilinski, Martin Zawilinski; nephew, Pete Zawilinski.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Bala and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC of St. Pancratius Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hrabec are her grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Catholic Church or Home and Hospice Advantage.
