CANDICE “CANDY” SUE HORNE,
46, of Cass City, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 following a lengthy battle with cancer in Select Specialty, Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit. She was born August 20, 1975 in Cass City to DeWayne Curtiss and Ellen Mae (Parker) Horne.
Candy graduated from Cass City High School in 1993. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Baker College with thoughts of becoming a medical assistant.
Candy worked many jobs before taking a position with Chrysler’s Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, as a Line Leader, for ten years. Later, she worked as a sales consultant for Scentsy. Candy was a skilled cheesecake maker, she made them from scratch in every flavor. She enjoyed attending craft shows and making her own crafts.
Gardening in her flower beds was a treasured outdoor hobby. Candy watched all the Hallmark Channel movies, but she especially looked forward to the Christmas movies. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was Candy’s favorite NASCAR driver. More than anything, she loved taking care of her family and friends, this is something she did very well.
Candy is survived by her mother, Ellen; her sisters: Michele (Brent Smith) Horne of Cass City, Melissa (Rob) Dickson of Deford; niece, Ariel (Cory) Brown; nephews: Nicholas (Gillian) Horne, Darren Dickson, Wyatt Dickson; one great-niece; four great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Dewayne Horne.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating.
