LAWRENCE E. HOLIK,
86, of Cass City, died unexpectedly in his home Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He was born March 20, 1924 at home in Sanilac County to Mitchell and Muriel (Hill) Holik. He married Dorothy Ann Condol November 17, 1952 in New Greenleaf. She died July 17, 1994.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army. When his family was young Lawrence and Dorothy would enjoy weekends up North in Glennie with the family. Lawrence enjoyed building and repairing radios. Radios were his passion and he felt they were a means to bring him in touch with far off places he had never been. He later collected radios and would attend swap meets. He was a member of the Antique Radio Club. In May, 2001, he donated several radios to the Cass City Historical Society for a display in the Cass City Municipal Building. It was his way of keeping his heritage alive by letting younger generations know what communication was like in past years. Lawrence later worked for Harold Whittaker Saw Mill for over 20 years.
Lawrence is survived by his children: Rebecca Remsing of Sebewaing, Bonnie (Roger) Champagne of Freeland, Joy (Kirk) Kibbey of Marlette, JoAnn Rychlicki of Bay City, Thomas E.
