ELAINE SHIRLEY HILLAKER,
88, of Cass City, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. She was born August 8, 1930 at home in Argyle Township to James and Norma (McAllister) Lowe. She married the love of her life, Russell Dean Hillaker March 25, 1950 in Cass City. He died February 8, 2013.
Elaine’s life’s desire was to be a good wife and mother to her children. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook. Elaine was a member of Cass City First Baptist Church. Throughout the years, Elaine was employed by several families as their long term housekeeper. She enjoyed working for each and everyone of them.
Elaine is survived by her children: Jack (Rona) Hillaker of Cass City, Kathy (Lee) Taylor of Whitmore Lake; Karen (Ron) Ouvry of Cass City, James (Susan) Hillaker of Cass City, Sherry (Gregory) Williams of Rockford; grandchildren: Jandi (Ryan) Baker, Jodi (Lance) Roark, Nathanael (Christy) Taylor, Jeremy (Kathleen) Taylor, Joshua (Bethany) Taylor, Brooke (Lane) Walker, Ashley (Kyle) Greenwood, Kevin (Carrie) Ouvry, Carrie Hillaker, Allison (Eric) Nye, Emily (Paul) McCracken, Derek Williams; nineteen great grandchildren; brothers: Keith (Mary Ann) Lowe of Deford, Dale Lowe of Snover, sisters: Georgine (Clare) Brown of Ubly, Linda (Elwyn) Helwig of Cass City; sisters in law: Arlene Lowe of Deford, Anna Lowe of Saginaw. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Orwood Lowe, Jerry Lowe, Dean Lowe, Robert Lowe; sister in law Wenola Lowe.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with her grandson, Rev. Nathanael Taylor and Rev. Christian Wright of Cass City First Baptist Church officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hillaker will be: Lance Roark, Ryan Baker, Jeremy Taylor, Kevin Ouvry, Lane Walker, Kyle Greenwood, Eric Nye, Derek Williams; honorary pallbearers: Joshua Taylor, Paul McCracken.
