EDWARD ALBERT HILLAKER
Edward A. Hillaker, 91, of Argyle, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in Satchell’s Christian Retirement Home, Caro. He was born March 2, 1915 at home in Argyle Township to William and Elizabeth (Willerton) Hillaker. He married Belva Ann Phillips March 6, 1937 in Belva’s parent’s home. She died April 12, 2004.
Ed was a dairy and crop farmer. He also worked for a time for Guerdon Industry in Marlette and several years for General Cable in Cass City. Ed was a member of Cass City First Baptist Church. He enjoyed visiting the stockyards every Tuesday. Ed enjoyed watching sports on television and he loved music.
Ed is survived by his children: Richard (Janet) Hillaker of Port Huron, Jerry (Sharon) Hillaker of Snover; grandchildren: Susan (Brian) Duda, Diane (Robert) Baur, Kristen (Steven) Coon, Sara (Tim) Ladd, Jennifer Hillaker; great grandchildren: Trevin, Kaylee, and Jacob Edward Ladd, Ryan Duda, Nolan and Kamdyn Coon; sister, Muriel Parrott of Lazerne; brothers: Russell (Elaine) Hillaker of Cass City, Lorn (June) Hillaker of Cass City; sister-in-law, Thelma Phillips of Decker; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Eric Holmgren of Cass City First Baptist Church and Rev. John Wood of Corner Stone Baptist Church, Bay City, officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Active pallbearers for Mr. Hillaker: Bill Ewald, Harold MacAlpine, Joe Hillaker, Jack Hillaker, Gordon Patterson, Dale Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are: Bob Baur, Steve Coon, Tim Ladd, Brian Duda, Mike Rea, Fred Pallas, Maurice Adair and Floyd McIntosh. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette, Cass City First Baptist Church or American Heart Association.
