Shirley A. Heronemus, 86, of Cass City, died following a short illness Friday, August 2, 2013 in Port Huron Hospital. She was born November 19, 1926 in Cass City to Alvah and Cora (Bartle) Hillman. She married Floyd Heronemus August 15, 1945 in Mizpah Missionary Church. He died February 11, 1977.
Shirley worked at Kritzman's Department Store for over 24 years. She was a former member of Mizpah Missionary Church and a member of Cass City Missionary Church for many years. She enjoyed quilting, camping, painting and wallpapering. Shirley also enjoyed singing and at one time sang with a trio.
Shirley is survived by her children: Richard Heronemus of Sandusky; Judy (Ronald) Harrier of Milwaukie, OR; grandchildren: Julie Heronemus, Erik (Abbi) Wood, Adam Wood; great grandchildren: Zia and Zain; sister, Florence Herbst of Algonac; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Weldon Howard and her brother-in-law, Irwin Herbst.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Cass City Missionary Church with Pastor Phil Burkett officiating. Interment will be in Hemans Cemetery.
