FLOYD JACK HERON, JR.
82, of Kingston died following a long illness Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Marlette Regional Hospital Extended Care Unit, Marlette. He was born March 28, 1934 in Cass City the first of three children born to Floyd P. and Caroline Marie (Gintner) Heron. He married Beverly J. Harrison Jeffrey May 3, 1969 in Kingston United Methodist Church.

Floyd graduated from Bay Port High School. He served in the Army National Guard for 20 years. He then attended Baker College in Flint receiving his two year degree. Floyd taught for a time at Baker before beginning his own business, Heron Accounting and Tax Service which he operated for 49 years. Floyd was a member of the Clio Lions Club for 50 years. He worked for the Village of Kingston for 20 years and served on the village council. He was a longtime member of Kingston United Methodist Church serving on the Advisory Board as chairman of ushers and candle lighters.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Beverly; children: Kathy Heron of Columbia, SC, Michelle (Michael Duffy) Heron of Sebastopol, CA, Jack (Donna) Heron of Coloma, Scott Heron of West Columbia, SC, Ed (Eustolia) Heron of Kingston, Janet (Dale) Sullins of Deford, Ruth Heron of Kingston; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters: Carolyn (Richard) Costantini of Jackson, Mary Ann McKerchie of Gaines; brother-in-law, Edward (Connie) Harrison of New Baltimore; sister-in-law, Betty (Robert) Rushlow of St. Clair Shores; several nieces and nephews. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston with Rev. Carol Abbott officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Military honors under the direction of Kingston AMVETS Post #1072. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
