Gracia Frances Hergenreder, 92, of Kingston, died peacefully in her home with her family at her side Friday, July 22, 2005. She was born October 26, 1912 at home in Peck to Theron and Frances (Dunn) VanSickle. She married Theodore ‘Ted’ Hergenreder September 27, 1938 in Detroit. He died January 17, 2000.
Gracia graduated from Peck High School. She and Ted farmed. When Ted had his back problems, Gracia did the milking and raised their family. Gracia was famous for her home baked cinnamon rolls and her beautiful flower gardens. She loved her grandchildren and truly enjoyed the babies. Gracia’s bible study and worship services were very important to her and for years were held in her home.
Gracia is survived by her daughters: Muriel (William) Beltz of Oxford and Arlene (the late Wayne) Nichols of Lake Orion; grandchildren: Cherie Dawn (Mark) Beltz Edwards of Cedar Springs, Wendi Noel (Jeffrey) Beltz Bennett of Spring, TX, William Dean Beltz II of Davison; great grandchildren: Raymond Edwards, Theodore Edwards, Brendan Bennett, Sean Bennett; sister, Ethel Beardslee of Newberry; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Harold VanSickle, Knessie Welt, Lilas Dingman, Theron Verde VanSickle, Charlotte K. �"Lottie” Essex, Milne VanSickle and infant brother.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home �- Cass City with Lecil Sullivan and Brad Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hergenreder are : Gene Hergenreder, Karl Thom, Arlo Ruggles, Lloyd Fredrick, Clinton VanSickle and Howard Beardslee.
