GLADYS CHARLOTTE (COPELAND) HENDRICK
Gladys C. (Copeland) Hendrick, 88, of Cass City, died Sunday, July 04, 2004, under hospice care in Wadhams Care Home, Michigan Outreach Corp., Kimball, MI. She was born May 25, 1916 at home in Sanilac County, one of 11 children of George and Maud (Wyers) Copeland. She married Lee Hendrick April 25, 1933 in Sandusky. He died March 3, 1998.
Gladys and Lee were dairy and crop farmers. Gladys was able to help any way necessary on the farm. She also worked at the Tate Grocery Store in Cass City and was a waitress at the Michigan Livestock Exchange Restaurant in Cass City for about seven years. She enjoyed playing Euchre and was a member of the Euchre Club for over 50 years. Gladys attended Cass City United Methodist Church. Gladys and Lee enjoyed square and round dancing, and time with her family. She always had time for her grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her children: Richard (Elaine) Hendrick of Cass City; Arlen (Edith) Hendrick of Brown City; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters; sister, Helen (Jerry) Decker; sisters-in-law: Leone Copeland, Lucille Copeland and Helen Carlile; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Shirley Hendrick; three sisters: Hazel Harrison, Marge March and infant girl; brothers: Howard, Leonard, Arnold, Ken, Harold and Eldred.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. George Ward, of Cass City United Methodist Church and Rev. Richard Black, officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Cass City United Methodist Church. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hendrick: Ronald Hendrick, Scott Hendrick, Randy Hendrick, Rick Hartwick, Dawn Brock, Luree Schnitzner.
