Helen M. Pyrek, 97, of Bad Axe, formerly of Gagetown, has fallen to sleep in the peace of Christ on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Huron County Medical Care Facility. August and Magdaline (Polega) Miller welcomed Helen into this world, as a homebirth, in Rapson on May 27, 1927. As a young lady, she was united in holy matrimony to Felix Murawski on May 4, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. Helen believed in hard work and it was evident throughout her home. She worked for General Cable in Cass City. Helen retired after eighteen years, she then started a new venture with Gagetown Manor and cleaned many houses throughout town. Her service included cleaning St. Agatha Catholic Church for thirteen years and laundering lines for seventeen years. Helen’s joy came in cultivating her gardens and canning her crops.
Gagetown is where Helen found her church home, becoming a faithful member of Our Lady Consolata Catholic Church, Gagetown.
