Joyce L. Heineman, 81, of Kingston, died Monday, November 17, 2003 in Covenant Health Care-Cooper, Saginaw. She was born February 5, 1922 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to Alvin and Maude (Vaughn) Radcliffe. She married Sherwood Heineman March 25, 1941, in Kingston. He died May 28, 1974.
Joyce, along with her husband, owned and operated the L.A. Heineman & Son General Store in Kingston for 30 years. She then worked at her son’s store, Gus’s Party Store in Mayville. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church, where she helped teach Sunday school. She loved basketball, taking care of her flowers and reading her Bible.
Joyce is survived by her children: Gus Heineman of Mayville, Nancy (Don) Legg of Tipton, OK, Sandy (Roger) Heineman of Mulliken; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Marie Brewer of Wyandotte, Goldie Meister of Taylor, MO, Audrey (Ed) Pazik of South Bend, IN; brother-in-law, Edwin Heineman. She is preceded in death by her brother, Vaughn (Doris) Radcliffe, sister-in-law, Margaret Black; brothers-in-law, Cliffton Brewer and Bud Meister.
Funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston with Rev. Terry Butters officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
Visitation: 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003
