Heather Healy, 68, of Empire, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Munson Hospice House, Traverse City. She was born July 5, 1944 in Cass City to James and Blanche (Stafford) Milligan. She married Ronald Healy July 2, 1968 in Cass City.
Heather received her BA degree from Central Michigan University. She worked as a teacher in Port Huron before taking a job with Social Security, spending most of her career as a Quality Review Analyst, retiring in 2003. Heather was an excellent cook. She had an eye for beauty which was exhibited in her beautiful home. Heather had a gift for friendship and love. She was heroic in her battle with cancer, always bright and never self-pitying.
Heather is survived by her husband, Ronald; brothers: Hugh (Geraldine) Milligan of Spruce, Alan (Kathy) Milligan of Cass City; nieces and nephews: Kevin Milligan, Todd Milligan, Trent Milligan, Jennifer (Timothy) Davis. She is preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Kirk Milligan.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Susan G.
