FLORENCE THERESA HAZZARD
Florence T. Hazzard, 89, of Cass City, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 in Sunnybank Assisted Living, Charlevoix, where she was being cared for by her niece Janet Stutzman. She was born October 1, 1917 in Gagetown to Joseph and Emma (Sharkey) Karner. She married Earl Streeter September 10, 1949. He died February 6, 1965. She later married Les Hazzard in 1967. He died in the 1970’s in Bad Axe.
As a child, Florence attended the Catholic School in Gagetown. She worked for Walbro Manufacturing for about 12 years. She attended Cass City Missionary Church. Florence enjoyed shopping, roller skating and sledding in the winter. In the summer Florence enjoyed walking, gardening and bird watching.
Florence is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sisters: Josephine Meyer, Margaret Beckett; brothers: Frank Karner, John Karner; special friend, Ervin Thompson.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Robert Sweeney of Cass City Missionary Church, officiating. A memorial brunch will be served at the Cass City Missionary Church located at 4449 Koepfgen Road, Cass City. (turn South at the Home and Hospice Advantage Building. The church is on the West side of the road) at 9 a.m. Friday, before the funeral. Memorials may be made to Cass City Missionary Church or Leader Dogs for the Blind. Interment will be in Almer Township Cemetery, Caro. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
