ROBERT LEE HARTWICK,
83, of Cass City, formerly of Zephyrhills, FL died following a short illness Sunday, January 6, 2013 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center in Marlette. He was born May 19, 1929 in Cass City to Edward and Ruth (Jackson) Hartwick. He married Gladys Patricia May November 30, 1989 in Pasco County, Florida.
Robert was a journeyman plumber with Local 370 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union of Flint. He worked many assignments with local 370 including many years with Daveny Plumbing and Heating, Flint. Over the years Robert enjoyed hunting, especially pheasant hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles. After his retirement Robert enjoyed rebuilding bicycles. He enjoyed trips to garage sales and auctions to acquire old bicycles and bicycles for parts and then taking them home to rebuild.
Robert is survived by his wife, Gladys: children: Robert Lee (Nancy) Hartwick of Columbiaville; Sharon (James) Ribble of Metamora; step-children: Thomas (Maria) May of Livonia; grandchildren: Ryan, Adam (Stephanie), Nathan (Abby), Brooke, Hunter; great grandchildren: Emerson and Rylee; brother, Charles and Kathleen Hartwick of Cass City; sisters-in-law: Wilma Hartwick and Carole Hartwick; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by son, Randall Hartwick; step-daughter, Pamela May; brothers and sisters-in-law: Arlan (Lucy) Hartwick, Paul Hartwick, Laurence (Gloria) Hartwick, Gerald Hartwick, Leland Hartwick, Leslie Hartwick; sisters and brothers-in-law: Erma (Stanley) Mellendorf, Elaine (Jay) Crane.
Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. David Hill of Cass City First Baptist Church officiating.
