DOLORES ROSELINE HARTSELL,
89, of Mishawaka, IN; formerly of Cass City, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Tanglewood Trace Assisted Living Facility in Mishawaka, IN. She was born November 17, 1927 in Commerce Township to George Frederick and Mary (O'Leary) Dingel. She married Alton Clarence Hartsell November 27, 1948 in Pontiac. He died July 31, 1990.
Dolores was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Orion and later of Deford Community Church. She was a proud member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Dolores appreciated and was very supportive of the Forgotten Man Ministries organization. She loved tending her plants and gave many to friends. Dolores enjoyed collecting antiques, visiting antique stores, yard sales and flea markets looking for a great find to add to her collection. Dolores enjoyed reading Christian stories, cookbooks, letters, cards and especially poems. She was skillful at crocheting and sewing and made pillowcases and many quilts for her grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her daughters: Roseline (Tim) Thompson of Clarkston, Nancy (Michael) Daugherty of Osceola, IN; son-in-law, Douglas Bailey of North Branch; grandchildren: Dwayne Esckelson, Dawn Freeland, Denise Steffler, Eric Esckelson, Jeff Bailey, Steven Bailey, Julie Reimers, Matthew Hartsell, Shannon Bennett, Kayla Daugherty, Krysta Daugherty; sixteen great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter due in May. She is preceded in death by her daughter Diane Bailey; son Leonard Hartsell; great grandsons, Kelby Freeland and Alex Bailey; son-in-law, Delbert "David" Esckelson; and all her siblings: George Dingel, "Bud" Lawrence Dingel, William Dingel, Angie Male, Gladys Weldon, Jenny Curtis, Dorothy Rader, Donna Dingel, Loretta Dingel, Cecilia Dingel, Julietta Dingel and an infant sister.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 in Deford Community Church, Deford with Rev. David Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery.
