Larry J. Hartley, 66, of Lapeer, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in his home in Lapeer. He was born March 6, 1952 the third of five children born to John C. and Marjorie Jean (Sharrard) Hartley in Pontiac. He married Tina Sue Byers November 10, 1979 in Pontiac.
Larry graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1970. He worked for General Motors for over 35 years. First at Fisher Body Plant of Pontiac, then at the Orion Assembly Center. Larry retired July 1, 2006. He had an appreciation of motorcycles and custom cars. Larry was known for keeping his cars immaculate and clean. He enjoyed hunting and loved playing cards with his family and friends. Larry surrendered his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 24, 2009 and spent many hours reading and studying the bible.
Larry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tina; son: Joshua (Nicole) Hartley of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: David and Sierra; sisters: Joyce (Myron) Boloyan of Port Richie, FL, Sandra Hutchinson of Lapeer, Linda (Tim) Spangler of Lapeer, Brenda (Mike) Seabrook of Holly. He is preceded by his parents.
Funeral service held 12 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Greg Floars of First Freewill Baptist Church in Pontiac officiating. Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery.
